I didn't realize it's been this long since I entered in my blog.
I've been so busy with other things - like vacation, shiva houses, MLA, lots of changes at work. And then with the connection problems at home, it's been hard to get on-line. Not that I haven't, just not much. Then there is the is the issue of the blog itself.
I don't really like blogging, but I have been doing some of the 23 things.
In the last 6 weeks I have (in no particular order):
uploaded some of the vacation picts to Flickr - and tried to use the mashups ot make a post card and a trading card. The postcard worked - I sent it to Rog. The trading card didn't come out too well. I did use the Yahoo trip planner. It's very similar to the AAA trip planner that Rog used and showed me - and very useful.
explored RSS and decided I don't need MORE information. I can see the benefits - and if there was anything that wanted to stay on top of that badly I would certainly use an RSS feed.
In exploring blogs, I found a lighthouse blog that looked interesting - another maryland lighthouse hound. I want to set up an RSS feed for that one - but I can't find it again. I get so frustrated with a lot of this technology.
started a family wiki - I set up a Nachlas-family wiki and invited the sibs to enter their family stories. I'll invite in several of the cousins and see what happens. Writing the family stories for the wiki is more satisfying than writing in the blog.
found podcasts of Irish music - very enjoyable - I used Yahoo to find several. I've also tried to listen to some NPR podcasts, but they don't seem to be compatible with Macs. I'll have to ask my Mac maven how to play.
I dressed my avatar in the UK.Yahoo site.
I've toodled around MERLIN a bit. Read some of the blogs. I intend to come back to MERLIN
I started cataloging my lighthouse books in LIBRARY THING and found a few other lighthouse librariies.
showed Joe some old videos on YouTube. We found The Andrews Sisters, and Merv Griffin singing I've Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts - and then, of course, we had to find more aobut Merv Griffin - hello, Wikapedia!
I plan to explore more tomorrow. Maybe I'll finish all 23 by Monday - maybe not. I'm learning a lot about web-resources - that's the point, isn't it?

Lighthouse seat
I've really been having a hard time getting things from the outside into my blog.
So Kathy's helping me. This time we're trying a new way to post pictures.

Changes
Playing around in the blog -
figured out how to edit, change the template....
I'm trying to up-load an image.
I figured out how to upload to Flickr - no, amend that. I did upload an image to Flickr, but not really sure how I did it.
I wish I had more time to play around with this stuff.

I figured out how to get back in to my blog.
I haven't blogged in a while, because getting ready for the holidays really takes time and energy - none left to do 23 Things.
The Holidays are time out of time. During the Days of Awe, there isn't time for the real world. It's as if everything stops, and we exist in a spiritual bubble, filled with family, prayer, song and shofar, and nothing is happening, nothing progressing. In the bubble, we wait - for our fates to be written? and Sealed? And then - the shofar blows the Tekiah G'dolah, and we're back - and all sorts of things have happened, the world kept on. It's always a bit of a shock.
So I'm back now, for a bit anyway, and ready to get on with my 23 Things.
Later this week, I'll try Flickr.
